Looking Ahead to 2027 — The National Icons Are Coming

Apparently it’s never too early to start making room in the display case. Coming March 2027, the Hot Wheels Vintage Racing 2026 Mix 3 National Icons takes collectors back to racing’s glory days with 1:64 scale diecast, vintage-inspired decos, exclusive wheels and race-themed packaging designed to make leaving these on the peg considerably more difficult. The National Icons lineup includes some serious international machinery: the Lamborghini Countach LP 5000 QV, ’73 Honda Civic Custom, ’69 COPO Corvette, 1963 Aston Martin DB5, and the one that’s going to have collectors inspecting every package very carefully—the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Chase. And yes, there will also be a limited number of special all-zinc castings mixed into the Vintage Racing series. Consider yourself warned.

Of course, March 2027 sounds comfortably far away. You have plenty of time. There’s absolutely no reason to start planning which cars you want, rearranging the collection, or explaining to your significant other why an empty section of shelving must remain untouched for the next six months. None whatsoever. We’re simply providing this information as a public service. Final assortments are subject to change, but if everything arrives as planned, National Icons should bring together American, European and Japanese favorites in one very tempting vintage-racing assortment.
